It was late (8:45) and we were hungry, so went for Fish Shack to grab some bites from one of the finest places in Dun Laoghaire.
Needless to say, but we’ll say it anyway: it was amazing – the interior design of this restaurant is amazing, the logo is hats off the coolest I’ve witnessed. The place is full of happy people the furniture gives you a real shack-house feeling!
As we got in, our eyes were set on someone’s nachos, so we went with that for a starter – it tasted delicious, a very unique recipe!
Crisp nachos with Boston shrimp, chorizo and topped cheese sauce with Tabasco dressing.
The cheese was amazing with the combination of the chorizo and shrimp on the nachos, it felt great to dig in with our hands!
Grilled Garlic Prawns
Whole gambas, brushed with garlic butter & grilled. served with shack salad or chips.
Dublin bay prawns, lightly coated with fine bread crumbs than deep fried. served with their tartar sauce and shack salad or chips.
Both dishes were an absolute delight, If you haven’t noticed in the pictures – the Tartar sauce came in this awesome oyster and it was probably one of the best sauces Tartar sauces I had.
Our waiters were absolutely amazing and we’d like to give some special credit to Simon.
As we finished our meal few minutes before 10PM (place closes at 10) an old fella came in and they let him sit down and eat regardless of the time – the waiter Simon was the nicest person – having a chat with him and explaining him about the dishes, we heard from the other waitress that this man was there a few days before already and they were happy to see him again.
Simon was kind and funny to all the people around including us, Hats off to you Simon if you read this!
We finished this meal with some ice cream – yes, there’s an ice cream deli inside the restaurant:
The choice was double chocolate.
